Research Associate Position – UCSF

The Wilson lab is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and organized junior researcher to assist in our aims in multiple sclerosis research. We are involved in a very exciting study that seeks to understand the beginnings of multiple sclerosis by studying the immune system cells in the peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid of newly diagnosed MS patients. We use an in-house flow cytometer/cell sorter and next-generation sequencer to better understand which cell types may be important to disease activity.

The Staff Research Associate I/II (SRA I/II) will assist the lab with the processing of human peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid samples for flow cytometry and cell sorting. The sorted subsets will be used for next generation sequencing and transcriptomics, so some molecular biology work may be expected as well.

Patient visit schedules are constantly changing so some scheduling flexibility and a positive attitude are important. In return, you will receive the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and a fascinating patient population. We are a passionate, energetic group and hope to find someone who shares our commitment to the exciting work we are doing.
